An Amnesty International human rights education programme bringing together young people, teachers and arts practitioners.

Featuring artists Rachel Ballagh, Robert Ballagh, Tony Crosbie, Shane Cullen, Emma Finucane, Brian Maguire, Nick Miller, Emer O'Boyle, Vivienne Roche, Dominic Thorpe.

In 2003, Amnesty's education team, together with a steering committee particular support from former teachers Roddy Doyle and Maeve Binchy, developed the concept of young people and artists working together to produce creative work that could be incorporated into a transition year unit. This initiative became known as Voice Our Concern; where ten artists visited ten schools each year on December 10th (International Human Rights Day), and beginning with these visits, established a relationship with the students and collaborated with them on creative work which would explore and reflect their concerns around human rights issues.

The fourth cycle of Voice Our Concern sees an exciting new collaboration between transition year students and visual artists in 2007. The artist's role will be to listen to young people’s concerns and provide guidance and assistance in expressing these through the production of visual artwork. The finished work is exhibited and subsequently incorporated into transition year materials for use in post-primary schools
