Civic Centre
Walker was asked to address the vast interior atrium of the Civic Centre and, struck by the enormous scale of this space, he made a work in dazzling blue and green LED lights, which ‘stitches’ two walls together; creating the illusion of bringing two corners of the atrium nearer to each other “Zip's" , playful op-art qualities, which reference Brigid Reilly and Dan Flavin, wittily animate and illuminate the vast atrium space of the busy Civic Centre in Ballymun.
