Working with primitive casting equipment, Dave Kinane set up a temporary foundry in Ballymun, to teach fundamental skills in bronze casting. The artist worked with a group of ten local people over two months and the project culminated in a casting weekend at the Leitrim Sculpture Centre, an exhibition of the participants’ work in Axis and the installation of a series of bronze ants in the new park in Shangan -“Seangain” meaning anthill in old Irish.
